Lost in the big city lights!

I adore All Hollow magazine! It’s my kind all the way and every issue is a pleasure to see and read.

And this time, I found an even better combination, All Hollow and Lightaholic. Hihihih (glowing)

Hightaholic is an amazing blogger of street fashion and I’m a lucky person for having the chance to meet him in an informal place. I was preparing some interviews for a big event he was on the list. It was a pleasure hearing him talk about his blog, choices, decisions and future plan.

I have to tell you, his professional and the knowledge he was about cameras, made me feel a bit out of the subject. A bit more Hahaha

Coming back to this sensational combination, below is a pure demonstration that will make you want to buy a camera or cloths or shoes, either way we will crave for some shopping.

Fashion advice of the day!

Follow Lightaholic and any other street fashion blogs, in my opinion fashion is what people make every day when they open the closet and pick something.  This is the real thing, based on human decisions, no matter what the influence is, in the end any person will pick what their guts is telling them.

Perception is just a step!

I found an article today at one of my friends that I admire a lot, Macnetize, about one of those situations that affects poor people and most of us don’t know about. Yolanda Domínguez how is a Spanish artist that confronts passersby with disquieting urban actions that aim to generate social criticism and a reaction, has strake again.

I think that all of us have heard the horrible stories about how fashion brands have factories in poor country and are exploiting children for the good of their paychecks.

This activity is a result of a terrifying tragedy that took place in a factory in Bangladesh, where on the 24th of April the roof of various textile workshops collapsed and killed 1,127 workers.

Yolanda Domínguez, made an urban action, called “Fashion Victims” in Madrid inspired by the recent events in order to bring into the light of day the real “fashion victims”: the enslaved workers, child exploitation and the millions harmed by the poor conditions in the factories they are forced to work.

The idea was this: various bloggers appear buried under rubble in a one of the most fashionable street of Madrid, only some extremities with luxurious accessories (bags, shoes, and others) were felt outside in order to remind us of the images published from the tragedy in Bangladesh in which arms and legs stuck out from under the remains of the building.

Fashion advice of the day!

We can’t change overnight these conditions, not me or you or all of us!  But we can fire a warning, make people aware of the terrible ways those people work in, the exploitations the children and so on. Making people aware will raise actions, will make you wonder if your weekend shopping is worth someone’s life and will bring organizations to work together in order to change or improve things.

Yolanda Domínguez, started the fire but it’s up to us to keep it burning!

I do believe that all of this is an appeal for responsible production and consumption, both for people and the planet.

Kitsch?! Kitsch!

It was a bit of a hectic period, so all the news and interesting thing just flew by me. But on this really sunny day I managed to look a bit, on those pages, site and blogs that I admire and stalk most of the times.

On one of this, may I say a college of mine now, made a special kind of analogy that brings together bright fashion element in a pasquinade that shows, at list from my point of view, what now we call fashion and good taste. :))

The pictures are awesome and the combination, well the title of the photo shoot, says it all.

Kitsch antology | All Hollow Magazine

KITSCH ANTOLOGY is the ironic metaphor of a complex universe that evolves by its own elementary rules and regulations. Beauty, wealth, fortune, love and drama, the way we see them on TV, in vile association with what we like to call bad taste, bad manners or generally bad behavior.

Fashion advice of the day!

This one is really simple, please search for the word kitsch in the dictionary and never, never, I mean NEVER forget its meaning!

Not trying to seam tough or mean, but this is the reason some of us look in a not so good way, I think that they truly forgive the meaning of this world and all the connotations that it has.
